This image of a black-crowned night heron was captured at a nature preserve in Maui. Moving in and out of shadows made it very difficult to get good exposures. Suddenly, the bird began to take flight. As it began it's takeoff, it moved into the sunlight. Luckily, I was ready for the moment, and captured this stunning image - a once in a lifetime image. |
