As rare as steam trains have become, the appearance of tandem steam locomotives is even more of a rarity. Whiel waiting for the return trip from Silverton to Durango, I followed the tracks from the edge of town, hoping to find some additional images from the trip.
To my surprise, another train was just coming into town. As it climbed the final grade along the curving track, a second engine came into view.
