Yet another view of Denali (Mount McKinley). In Summer, the tundra in Denali National Park is green and dense from frequent rains. It is more difficult to walk through the tundra that you might think. Much of the tundra is made up of ground-hugging berry bushes which intertwine, making it hard to walk through. As Summer wears on and these bushes grow taller, it is almost impossible to "high-step" your way through. At that time of year, it is especially difficult to see a grizzly bear laying down and feeding on berry bushes - until you are nearly on top of one.
